The color origin

It's a magical process.
Just look at the white light across a prism.
Then its seven colors appear like a rainbow:
red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigoviolet .

If light strikes in opaque objects is absorbed or reflected.
The reflected rays are what give color to each object.

In this great video you can see the range
of colors that nature has on his palette.

Life Is Colourful from The Brooklyn Brothers on Vimeo.

The reflected rays reach the eye.
After they they transmit the image to the brain.

This drawing that looks like a blowfish
            is our eye inside.

The light phenomenon is amazing.
You can practice with kaleidoscopes and periscopes.
Playing with lenses and mirrors also you'll discover many things.

Finally fun stuff by Donia Liechti.
